Meet the Family

We are deeply proud of the many extraordinary individuals who make up our school so we have introduced a few of the family members here. 

St Andrews - Principal  - Mrs Steinmann-GilbertMrs Steinmann-Gilbert

Role: Principal

Hobbies / Interests: Horse-Riding, shopping and spending valuable time with my family.

Interesting Fact: St. Andrew's was the school I attended as a child.

Why St Andrews?: Days at St. Andrew's really are the best days of your life. I have such fond memories of my childhood days and jumped at the opportunity to work at St. Andrew's as a teacher and then Principal. I want to ensure that every pupil finds success and makes memories that will last a lifetime.

 


St Andrews - Infant School Teacher - Mrs WilliamsMrs Williams

Role: Infant School Teacher

Hobbies / Interests: I am a tenor and bass drummer for The City of Rochester Pipes and Drums. I have had the opportunity to perform in front of Her Majesty the Queen, for her 90th Birthday celebrations, and to participate in Military Tattoos, both in the UK and Sweden. My other passions include all forms of dance and classical music.

Interesting Fact: I was, once upon a time, a professional ballerina!!!

Why St Andrews?: A lot can be said for a school when past pupils feel comfortable enough to choose to come back for volunteering, work experience or to simply drop in and say hello from time to time. 

 


St Andrews - Early Years Teacher - Mrs Pandey-RaiMrs Pandey-Rai

Role: Early Years Teacher

Hobbies / Interests: Indian Classical dancing, which I have done for 10 years,
listening to music, reading and painting ceramics.

Interesting Fact: I can speak 4 languages English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

Why St Andrews?: I love working in the Pre-School because every day is different.
The children are a constant source of delight and never cease to surprise me. I am proud to be guiding and inspiring them at the  foundation stage of their life and education.

 


St Andrews - PE Teacher - Mr PitcherMr Pitcher

Role: PE Teacher and Computing Leader

Hobbies / Interests: Playing football, golf and going to the gym.

Interesting Fact: I have recently adopted two kittens called Autumn and Elmo.

Why St Andrews?: What strikes me most about St. Andrew's is the passion from every staff member for providing children with an outstanding education whilst creating amazing experiences that the pupils will remember for the rest of their lives.

 


St Andrews - SnehaaSnehaa

Role: Year 6 Pupil and Head Girl

Hobbies / Interests: Swimming for Black Lion Swimming Club, playing the piano and the violin and really enjoy Art.

Interesting Fact: I will soon be taking my grade 4 piano and violin exams.

Why St Andrews?: St. Andrew's welcomed me with open arms in Year 4 and I immediately felt I was in a home away from home. The caring but challenging atmosphere has enabled me to reach my potential.

 


St Andrews - GabriellaGabriella

Role: Year 5 Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Training for and competing in triathlons, reading, hockey and spending time with my family.

Interesting Fact: I came second in the South East Junior Triathlon Series.

Why St Andrews?: I really like all of the teachers at St. Andrew's, they are all fun with bubbly personalities! PE and English are my favourite lessons and I love the school lunches, especially the lamb hotpot!

 


St Andrews - JeromeJerome

Role: Year 5 Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Making things out of paper, drawing, football and
 playing video games.

Interesting Fact: I can make a paper swan with my eyes closed.

Why St Andrews?: St. Andrew's is a great, supportive school. Art is definitely my favourite lesson. I enjoy making different things and learning new techniques. I also really like the uniform, especially the blazer - it is smart but comfy!

 


St Andrews - ElizaEliza

Role: Year 4 Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Dancing, singing, horse-riding, ice-skating and studying.

Interesting Fact: I compete regularly in irish dancing, travelling to different competitions across the UK and further afield.

Why St Andrews?: St. Andrew's is very different to my old school, it makes me feel happy and safe. I have lots of lovely friends and teachers. My Mum can go off to work and she knows she does not have to worry about me!

 


St Andrews - DaisyDaisy

Role: Year 3 pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Sports, especially football, trampolining and playing the guitar.

Interesting Fact: I play for Charlton Athletic Under 10 Women's Team and train with them weekly.

Why St Andrews?: PE lessons and playing different sports is one of my favourite things. I really enjoy playing in fixtures and tournaments against other schools. So far, I have represented the school in Cross Country, Kickball, Basketball and Rugby.

Danny

Role: Year 1 Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Construction, sports, swimming, and reading.

Interesting Fact: I have a yellow belt for kickboxing.

Why St Andrews?: St. Andrew's makes me feel safe when I am away from home. I really like learning new languages. I have French lessons and go to Spanish Club.

Role: Year R Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Going to the park and cinema and playing with my
dogs.

Interesting Fact: I want to be a Doctor when I grow up, to help make people
better.

Why St Andrews?: I like reading to my teacher and playing cars with my friend. The food is yummy - I really like the ice cream!

 


St Andrews - DanielDaniel

Role: Pre-school Pupil

Hobbies / Interests: Rugby, swimming and building things out of lego.

Interesting Fact: I want to be a policeman.I like police dogs and I like police cars.
I want to check footprints and put people in a cell.

Why St Andrews?: I know what I like about school... Everything! I like playing in the soft play and I like playing in the garden too.

Role: Alumnus

Hobbies / Interests: Composing for orchestra, performing on the piano, football and Chemistry.

Interesting Fact: I am the current Medway Young Musician of the Year.

Why St Andrews?: St. Andrew's extends beyond the academic. It instills a unique confidence upon one’s character that remains with you as you fulfil later life aspirations.

 


St Andrews - Alumni - AdamAdam

Role: Alumnus

Hobbies / Interests: I enjoy being involved in Performing Arts, playing the piano, reading, tennis, cricket, swimming and going to the theatre and cinema.

Interesting Fact: I won Best Actor at The Movie Guide Awards 2017 in LA for my
portrayal of Jesus in the film ‘The Young Messiah’.

Why St Andrews?: St Andrew’s offers a great variety of trips! The school thinks of trips to suit everyone such as visiting the theatre to residential trips like PGL. The teachers always make sure that everyone is involved!
